Schools

We are very aware that primary schools have considerable budget concerns and so to employ a regular IT technician on a permanent basis may not be appropriate or even possible. The UK government demands many things from schools. Often they are difficult to achieve in a small rural primary school. To provide a current, up-to-date, functioning network is a requirement but often a difficult service to provide.

All schools are different and are run in different ways with emphasis on different areas of the curriculum. Although all primary schools operate under the same restraints, they vary in size and therefore are individual in need and provision.

IT provision without an IT professional can be more than a challenge and quite often a goal that seems impossible to achieve. Often a teacher who has considerable skill elsewhere, is co-opted to provide basic maintenance, but is often not skilled to do much else. Maybe a governor with great IT skills but little time manages to keep things going but cannot develop the provision or make repairs quickly enough.

IT-Techie believes it has a better solution: -

● Technical excellence when needed

● 24 Hour response

● Telephone support as required

● Resources targeted at a technician to repair and optimize, not to clean and tidy

● Your own technician permanently on call

● A service that would free teachers to teach and the governors to govern

● A technical services insurance scheme

● An adaptable service that could be adjusted to suit your particular needs

Why buy into our technicians scheme?

An example of how it might work:

Your school's minimum commitment would be to pay for 5 hours per month of technician time as a callout insurance. (This is a suggestion and you may require more hours). When you need someone on site IT-Techie would be with you within 24 hours to fix the problem. We would always be on the end of the phone – a direct line, not an answering service – to give advice immediately. If however, the problem could not be fixed remotely then we would visit. If you needed us for more than the five hours then you would pay the excess as previously agreed.

This would provide you with peace of mind and expertise at the end of a phone. You would also know that if needed a skilled and experienced technician would be with you as soon as possible.

IT-Techie has considerable experience of Microsoft Server 2008 R2 / Server 2003, Windows (7, Vista, XP, 2000, Millennium, 98), MAC OSX, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook Express), Active Directory, Open Directory, Open Office, SIMS, FMS, School Fund, Anycomms, Video-editing, Image editing, Website building and management etc....

After many years experience gained in this sector, IT-Techie has many contacts and links within 'CSD' Suffolk County, the SIMS help-desk, and the education sector as a whole.
